Cuando Calienta el Sol

Say hola to the “Coco Hat“. A collaborative piece made between Dominican Republic & Puerto Rico by Los Tejedores and yours truly.  Los Tejedores is a project from Santo Domingo that links the tradition of weaving with natural materials with contemporary design, alongside dominican and haitian artisans. I designed the adjuster which’s intention was to make a functional, yet decorative piece.

The hat is made of coconut leaf fiber and it is hand weaved in Haiti. The adjustable piece is made of natural tanned leather and white brass, and is handcrafted in New York City.

Quique Cabanillas photographed the gorgeous Stephanie Roy Troia wearing Palm Swimwear in Piñones, Puerto Rico and I photographed the nature in Guánica and Aguadilla with my iPhone.
