Georges Rousse

I know we’ve seen this kind of optical illusion installations before but.. where do they come from? I stumbled upon the work of Georges Rousse and found out he’s the pioneer of this movement since the early 80’s. He started as an architectural photographer until he discovered land art. It was then when he started painting abandoned spaces and mixing it with photography, creating ephemeral, one-of-a-kind artworks by transforming these sites into pictorial spaces that are visible only in his photographs.
